TOLEDO, O. FIRE DEPARTMENT. The report of the fire commissioners, of Toledo, O., shows that the gross expense of the department for the year was $97,203.81. From this amount should be deducted $1,205.05, received from the saleof property by the board, leaving the total net expense of the department $96,098.76. Since the last report a Seagrave service hook and ladder truck has been purchased and placed in service at Station No. 3; a combination chemical engine and hose wagon purchased by the Milburn Wagon Company and placed in service at Station No. 9; and the old hook and ladder truck rebuilt and placed in service at Station No. 7. There are now in service 6 steam fire engines, 3 hook and ladder trucks (one aerial), 4 chemical engines (one combination), 11 hose carriages, and 46 horses.
