LONDON, June 27, 1896, BY way of postscript the following letter from our special correspondent at the International fire tournament in London, ably and clearly summarizes the situation and confirms the dispatches and views which have already appeared in our columns—sent from different sources: “It is now to be feared that the Widows and Orphans’ funds of the Metropolitan Fire Brigade and the National Fire Brigades Union will not very appreciably benefit by the net results of the tournament closing this day. The interest in the proceedings has been fair; but the genera! attendance has not by any means attained to the anticipated total.
