SOME FIREMEN’S GATHERINGS. On July 3 and 4 Little Falls, N. KY., was the scene of the meeting of the fourth annual convention of the firemen of Fulton, Herkimer,and Montgomery counties. A large crowd of delegates and visitors, amounting to probably 15,000 filled the town. There were 1,529 men in line, including officers and others in carriages, besides numerous bands of music and fife and drum corps. The line of march covered a distance of about five miles. The sports were very well attended and keenly contested, the hose race particularly, which had three entries, Wadsworth, Newport, Filkins, Amsterdam, and Hydrant, Fort Plain. The Newport men won, owing to an accident which happened to one of the Amsterdam team. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, A. L.
