NEW YORK FIRE GOSSIP. SIX new fire houses will soon be built in the city, three of them in the annexed district. For their construction the board of estimate has authorized the issue of bonds to the amount of $181,500.—At the approaching exhibition of fire hydrants, General Foreman Gear, of the department of public works, expects to have all the best hydrants represented. The fire departments of different cities have sent descriptions and, in some cases, illustrations of their present systems. Manufacturers will also exhibit their most improved appliance.
