FIRE ALARM AND POLICE TELEGRAPHS. The city council of Winnipeg, Mass., has passed a resolution accepting the tender of the Winnipeg Rubber Company for the supply of five Gamewell No. 12 sector non interfering fire alarm boxes at $89 each, delivered, inclusive of all fittings piping, etc. All of the boxes of the Washington fire alarm system at Washington, D. C., which were so badly demoralized by the tornado of a few weeks ago, are now in working order again. In the case of two or three boxes the route of the lines had to be changed. The police patrol wires are now being attended to. In Reading, I’a., 108 Gamewell fire alarms have been installed and connected, one of the largest employers of the system being the Reading Hardware Company, which has ten of these alarms in its plant.
