VIRGINIA STATE FIREMEN’S ASSOCIATION. At the eleventh annual convention of the Virginia State Firemen’s Association recently held at Winchester, Mayor Williams and Hon. Holmes Boyd delivered addresses of welcome, to which Mayor Marshal, of Portsmouth, replied. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year; President W. K. Stone, Newpoit News; vice-president, L. E. Lookabill, sr.; Secretary, G. G. Cummings; treasurer, T. J. Williams; statistician, J. E. Kiger. On the evening before the sittings of the convention began the new Rouss engine house was formally opened and appropriate addresses delivered, in one of which Capt. Baker paid a must feeling and most appropriate tribute to Mr. Charles B. Rouss, of this city, through whose liberality the house was mainly built. The usual tournament took place.’ The time for holding the convention in the future was changed to the fourth Wednesday in September; the next place of meeting to be Newport…
