The professor was en route for Europe, where he will spend a wellearned vacation. A water works company has been formed at Crisfield, Md. The Hannacroix Water Company of Albany county, N. Y., lately incorporated with a capital of $10,000 to furnish water to Ravenna, has filed a certificate of increase of capital to $30,000. The Kern River Company has been organized at Portland, Me., for the purpose of constructing and maintaining canals, pipes, etc., for power and irrigation, with $2,500,000 capital stock of which nothing is paid in. A York, Pa., syndicate has purchased the Middletown, Pa , water works at assignee’s sale for $iy,(xx), subject to a mortgage of $25. (XX).
