CHIEF TRAUTWINE AND THE COUNCILS. THE councils of Philadelphia, having passed a resolution in reference to the new George’s Hill reservoir, Chief Trautwine has been notified by Director Thompson to have the plans ready by November 11. The building of this reservoir was determined upon some time ago; but by reason of the inertness of councils in dealing with the question of the city’s water supply and the indecision manifested as to solving the difficulty, no steps could be taken either by Director Thompson or Chief Trautwine to take any overt action. Now. however, with the prospect of a municipal election looming in the near future and in the face of a vehement outcry for an abundant supply of potable water, the councilmen, some of whom are seeking reelection, have resolved to do something, and, as they feel, but do not wish to confess themselves guilty on the subject,they have…
