FILTER PLANT AT CAMP WIKOFF. In order to remedy the complaints as to the unwholesomeness of the water supplied to Camp Wikoff at Montauk Point (L. I.). N. Y., the Government ordered from the New York Filler Manufacturing Company a filter plant, with a daily capacity of 1,000,000 gallons. It consists of two filters, each eight feet in diameter and twenty feet in length. Weight, 120 tons; cost, $8,000. The plant was erected and in operation within one week after it had been ordered.
