THE NEW 20,000-GALLON PUMPING ENGINE OF THE INDIANAPOLIS WATER COMPANY. In accord with your general direction, I have tested the 20,000 Gallon Snow pumping engine, located in your upper station. Preparations for the test began on Tuesday, July 5. A preliminary run for the purpose of testing apparatus and to give practice for the observers was had on the following Thursday, and the final test was made on Friday, July 8. All preparatory work was carried on in the presence of, and with the approval of Mr. E. C. Sornberger, representing the Snow company, and during the test the engine was in his charge. Mr. Sornberger was also supplied with a copy’of all observed data in the form in which they were taken. Viewed as a piece of experimental work, the test was a most satisfactory one.
