DEATH OF SAMUEL B. HAWKS. The death is announced of Mr. Samuel B. Hawks, a prominent resident of Bennington, Vt., after a painful illness of over two years. Mr. Hawks was the son of Mr. William E. Hawks, also of Bennington, who is president of the Monroe, La., Waterworks and Light company, and was a former vice-president of the American Water Works association. Mr. Samuel Hawks, who was thirty-seven years old at the time of his death, was engaged from a comparatively early age with his father, and waslocated more or less constantly in the West, where he was chiefly interested in an immense water power scheme in Illinois. Latterly his principal occupation consisted in looking after the Monroe plant already referred to.
