THE TARRANT FIRE. Fire Marshal Seery, who has been investigating the fire and explosion at the building occupied by Tarrant & Co., at 278 to 282 Greenwich street, New York, in the latter part of October,, in which seven persons were killed, seven buildings destroyed, and thirty-five buildings damaged, has just made his report to Fire Commissioner Scannell. After explaining the character of the building, the uses to which it was put, and the difficulties encountered in ascertaining the nature of chemicals stored there, he says: In view of the loss of life and the destruction of property, I respectfully recommend that the testimony taken be transmitted to the district attorney, in order that he may aid us in determining if there is any criminal neglect on the part of said corporation, Tarrant & Co.
