George Dierner is the new president of the Liberty fire company, of Spring City, Pa. The fire loss at St. Paul, Minn., during 1900 was $1,218,552, In 1899 it was $418,918. A gasolene stove explosion at Cincinnati, Ohio, caused the destruction of two houses. The business portion of the non-fire-protected Brigden, Ont., burned. Water very scarce. The Philadelphia fire company of Pottstown, Pa., has just celebrated its thirtieth anniversary. The Doylestown, Pa., fire company has elected Henry A. James, president for the ensuing year. P. F.
