MISCELLANEOUS. Henderson & Co., uniform manufacturers, of Eleventh and Race streets, Philadelphia, have recently furnished uniforms and caps to the fire companies at East Berlin, Pa., and Pocahontas, Va. Messrs. A. F. & S. C. Stewart, of Rochester, N. Y., have received a contract to built for Owensboro, Ky., one of their latest style patrol wagons, also for Newport News, Va., fire department one of their modern highly finished hose wagons. Newport News, Va„ has ordered from Chas. T. Holloway & Co., Baltimore, Md., a double-tank combination chemical engine and hose wagon.—The same firm has also received contract from Cressona, Pa., for a double-tank four-wheel chemical fire engine. One of the strongest factors in onr own development is written of by Arthur Henry in Scribner’s for March, who has studied the immigrants as they land in this country. He takes a very optimistic view of their value as future citizens.…
