OSWEGO WATER SUPPLY UNSATISFACTORY. THE board of health, of Oswego, N. Y., has published the report of the special committee appointed by it to examine into the condition of the water supplied to the city for domestic purposes. The findings of the committee are based upon trips made to Albany, Elmira, and other cities, and on examination into their systems of filtration. They are as follows: We find the present supply from which water is drawn and furnished to the citizens of Oswego for domestic purposes not satisfactory in its raw state. We find that the system of filtration now in operation by the Oswego Waterworks company, while it greatly reduces the deleterious matter in the raw water, does not so purify the same as to render it entirely free from bacteria or foreign matter.
