PERSONAL. Peter E. Farnum, president of the waterworks company of Port Jervis, N. Y., has presented that town, through the Free Library trustees, with a site for the Carnegie library building. At a recent meeting of the executive committee of the Chamber of Commerce of Charlotte, N. C., it was decided to tender the position of secretary and treasurer to Mr. C. H. Campbell, superintendent of the Charlotte waterworks. Before accepting the position it will be necessary for Mr. Campbell to obtain the consent of the water commissioners; but it is said that they are willing that Mr. Campbell should assume the new duties, which in no wise interfere with his present work. He is a tip-top business man, noted for his energy and hustling.
