Five recent fires in St. Louis, Mo., have cost the insurance companies nearly $600,000. H. N. Christie is the new president of the Pioneer fire company No. 1, of Jenklntown, Pa. A block of business houses, occupied by twenty-four firms, burned at Tenaha, Tex. Loss, $29,000.
