THE ROSS VALVE MANUFACTURING COMPANY. The accompanying illustration represents the factory of the Ross Valve Manufacturing company, of Troy, N.Y., the well-known and thoroughly reliable makers of regulators to control steam or water, feed-water filters to take the oil-out of feed-water, and valves of every description. The Ross Manufacturing company is one of very old standing, the excellence of whose productions is proverbial. A midnight fire broke out in the premises 21 to 43 Commerce street, Brooklyn, New York, owned and occupied by John A. Casey & Co., dealers in rosin. Yards and buildings were used for storage of rosin and turpentine. Damage to building, $3,000; stock, $8,000; insurance unknown. The blaze, which was highly spectacular, is supposed to have been caused by sparks from a bonfire made by some boys in the street adjoining.
