NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION. (Special report to FIRE AND WATER.) The convention of the National Fire Protection association met in the Grand Pacific, Chicago, on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday last, President C. A. Hexamer in the chair. Our special correspondent reports a large attendance. The visitors were welcomed by W. S. Warren, manager of the Liverpool & London & Globe. In his opening address the president reviewed the progress of the organization, and the work done by it during the five years of its existence. In the course of his address he stated his belief that the success of the association was due mainly to the fact that manufacturers of apparatus had been constantly and freely consulted with respect to changes.
