INCREASED FIRE-WASTE IN MANHATTAN AND THE BRONX. Citizens,in common with insurance men,are anxious to find out why the fire loss In Manhattan and the Bronx, New York, should be $7,600,000 more under the three years of administration of Mayor Van Wyck than it was under the three years of Mayor Strong. The accompanying tables show what were the fire losses in the two boroughs duriug the three years when Mayor Strong was in power, and daring the next three years when Mayor Van Wyck held the reins of government: FIRE LOSSES IN MANHATTAN AND THE BRONX.
