PERSONAL. Chief Morris, of the fire department of Crookston, Minn., has been presented with a handsome dapple gray hose. The donors were the members of the Crookston fire department. On the day of the presentation the chief and his men had hardly had time to recover from the fatigue of a hard battle they had fought and won in the early morning with a fierce fire in a business block. Chief Hale, of Kansas City, Mo., has received a letter from Cairo, Egypt, asking for information in regard to the cost and equipment of a fire department. The letter was written by Colonel Ellis Mansfield,to whom has been assigned the duty of establishing a modern firefighting service in Cairo. Chief Hale will send the desired information.
