WATER SUPPLY OF COLUMBUS. Acting Superintendent O’Shaughnessy, of the waterworks department of Columbus, Ohio, is firmly of the opinion that the solution of an increased water supply at the west side station is the construction of the big storage Scioto dam. He says that this ought to be built, and if enough money is not available at this time, that a part of the dam should be built as soon as possible. Mr. O’Shaughnessy also favors connecting the east and west side stations with a thirty-five or forty-two-inch main running out Long street. This, he believes, will equalize the pressure and improve the service.
