Ralph, of Pittsburgh, Pa., has patented a system of fireproof construction. Peoria, Ill., will not allow the fire department to appear in any more parades. George Finley is the new chief of the East Rockaway (L. I.), N. Y., fire department. The Third ward enginehouse at Grand Rapids, Mich., will be manned by negroes. The fireboat New Yorker, of this city’s fire department, is to be altered and repaired. The Barnum hose company has been organized for the protection of Grand Island, Neb.
