PERSONALS. Mayor-elect Low has appointed Robert W. De Forest, of Manhattan, N. Y , tenementhouse commissioner of this city. Mr. de Forest was chairman of the tenementhouse committee appointed by Governor Roosevelt to examine into, and report on the conditions of tenementhouses in Greater New York. He has appointed as his deputies for Manhattan, Lawrence Veiller, secretary of that commission, and former secretary of the Charity Organization society, and Wesley C Bush, of Brooklyn, to presidee in that borough. Mr. Bush was one of a committee to frame new building laws for the city of Brooklyn before the creation of Greater New York. He also acted as building commissioner under Mayor Charles A. Schieren of that borough, during his term. Sheriff-elect William O’Brien and former Chief Bonner also served iu the Roosevelt tenementhouse commission W. J.
