Provision must be made for the expenses of the companies added last December for the recently annexed district, ii the way of telegraph facilities and a truck and chemical engine. Chief Kiersted wants every enging company to comprise eleven men and every truck company twelve men; if so, additional men will be needed. A fireboat, water tower, several more en gine houses, and four more houses for hook and ladder companies and machinery and men to equip them are also called for, but will not all be granted, though substantial increases are looked for, now that the act concerning mandatory appropriations has been repealed.
