THE WATER OF COLUMBUS. The committee on water of the board of trade at Columbus. Ohio, makes the following recommendation as to the water supply of that city: First. That it recommend as imperatively necessary that the city proceed with the construction of a dam and impounding reservoir in the Scioto river as the only available source of supply adequate to the city’s needs. Second.—That in connection with this dam purification works be established, if found necessary Third That the pumping and distribution facilities be increased to adequate proportions for the city’s needs. Fourth.—That it further recommends that this work be placed in the hands of a non-partisan com mission, to hold office until the work be completed Such commission to be constituted by an act of tin legislature and confirmed by a vote of the people of Columbus.
