APRIL AND ITS FIRE LOSS. During the month of April there were 221 fires in the United States and Canada, at which the loss was more than $10,000. Of these there were seventy-nine where it ranged from $10,000 to $20,000; forty-four, from $20,000 to $30,000: twenty-six, from $30,000 to $50,000; twenty-nine, from $50,000 to $75,000; twelve, from $75,000 to $100,000; seventeen, from $100,000 to $200,000; fourteen, from $200,000 to $750,000. The most destructive fires were those at Atlantic City, hotels and stores, $750,000; Glens Falls. N. Y., shirt and collar and another factory, $650,000: Dallas, Tex., printing office, etc., and other buildings; Quincy, Ill., lumber plant, $350,000 each; Marienville, Pa., several business blocks, $300,000: Croghan, N. Y., different buildings, $275,000; Columbus, Ga., iron works and another building. $250,000; Louisville, Ky., paint and oil warehouse, $200,000.
