NEW PUMPING STATION AT WASHINGTON. The new Trumbull street station that is being built at Washington, D. C., will complete the pumping system of the District. The U street pumping station will be done away with, and the machinery there moved to the new station. The Trumbull street station will be operated in connection with the new filtration plant. The building is to be ornamental in design. The basement work has been completed, and the structural steel work is now in progress. The soft, gray brick, with white stone and white marble trimmings, will make an ornament to the municipal buildings of the city. The new station is located near the grounds of the Howard university. The total cost of the building, exclusive of the pumps, will be $750,000.
