FIRE ALARM WITHOUT BATTERY. The interest shown all through the week in the Magneto-Electric Fire and Police Alarm System warrants a brief description of this exhibit at the convention. This system does away with the batteries and dynamos at present used in furnishing current; as the mechanism in the street box not only sounds the number over the circuit and repeats it. but generates its own current for this purpose. This system will operate telegraphing or signaling by electricity without the batteries and dynamos as efficently as with them, and, as there are no contact points, the trouble in this respect is done away with. After the crystal is broken, the alarm is given at the street box by pressing the button, and, afer giving the “fire out signal,” is restored to its original, condition in a few seconds.
