PERSONAL. The city council of Atlanta. Ga.. has elected H. C. Stockdell. the well-known fire insurance manager, as a member of the city’s water board, to fill the unexpired term of Judge Hillyer. This is a well deserver compliment to the executive ability of Commissioner Stockdell, who has several times in the past served the city as one of its officebearers. To readers of FIRK AND WATER ENGINEERING his name is familiar, as having been member of the board of aldermen and a fire commissioner, in which capacity he was chiefly responsible for establishing the fire department on its present efficient basis.
