MICROBES AT LUDLOW. As the presence of organisms in the reservoir of Ludlow, Mass., makes the water disagreeable, the Ludlow supply has been shut off, and the city is getting its water from Jabish brook by way of the Blechertown canal. This arrangement has been in effect since last Sunday. The growth of the organisms which have tainted the Ludlow water is due to the recent warm weather, which raised the temperature of the water in the Ludlow reservoir to the seventy-degree mark, which makes the growth of these organisms possible. The cool weather that prevailed early in the summer is all that prevented the earlier arrival of the unwelcome germs.
