HAYWARD EQUIPMENTS A handsome, steel frame hook and ladder truck, and a double-tank, four-wheeled chemical engine have recently been delivered to Great Barrington, Mass., by S. F. Hayward & Co., of New York.—The same firm has also supplied Glen Cove, N. Y., with a double-tank, four-wheeled chemical engine, and in a letter to S. F. Hayward & Co., the fire department writes as follows: “We saved last night a corncrib within twenty feet of a large blazing barn; the crib being also afire when we arrived. We consider an empty, draughty corn-crib about as hard a tost as there is for chemicals, but we captured the fire. We know you will be glad to hear that we are still doing good work with our chemical engine.” The name of Superintendent T. R.
