PACIFIC COAST AND CANADIAN NEWS. (From our regular correspondent.) The city of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, is calling for tenders for the construction of four new fire halls. During the winter months the firemen of the Prairie City are called on to make long runs in response to alarms, and the new buildings will relieve the firemen in the main hall from leaving the business district, as they now do, uncovered, while responding to alarms of fire in the residence districts.— The many friends of A.
