FIRE NEWS OF THE WEEK (SPECIAL CORRESPONDENCE OF FIRE AND WATER ENGINEERING ) Union, S. C., is organising a fire department. Frankfort, S. Dak., is organising a volunteer fire department. The young men of St. Joseph, Ill., are forming a fire company. Cataract hose company No. 7 has been formed at Ithaca, N. Y. S. C. Case is now chief of the Mt. Pleasant, la., fire department. Heart failure caused the death of Lieut. Weldner, of the Milwaukee, Wis., fire department, while engaged in fighting flames. The Waterloo, Ia., West Side engine house is being thoroughly remodeled. Decatur, Ill., has purchased 1,000 feet of hose and added seven boxes to its fire alarm system. The Bay City, Mich., firemen, when in uniform, are now allowed to ride free on the electric trolley cars.
