FIRE HYDRANT TESTS IN BROOKLYN. After a series of fire hydrant water tests in the first and second insurance districts of Brooklyn, which include the retail dry goods section along Fulton street and a portion of the waterfront in the vicinity of the Arbuckle properties, Assistant Engineer Brush, of the Brooklyn department of water supply, who conducted the tests on behalf of the borough, said: “There is no longer any doubt that the first and second insurance districts of Brooklyn are as well protected against fire as any section of the entire city of New York. In the congested downtown district there are as many as three hydrants to the block connecting with the Prospect Park reservoir main, and these hydrants are for the exclusive use of the fire department.
