REJUVENISATION OF FIRE CHIEFS ASSOCIATION. Special report to FIRE AND WATER ENGINEERING. In answer to the invitation issued by Chief John Stagg, president of the International Association of Fire Engineers, a number of chiefs interested in the betterment of the association assembled in the City Council Chamber, Paterson, N. J., on Wednesday last. It was a very earnest body of men, and, judging from the manner in which the suggestions were presented, it was evident much consideration had been given to the subjects discussed. Chief Horton, of Baltimore, is a very practical firefighter and a most progressive exponent of methods to control fires,.originating from dangerous causes, and his papers on this subject have been greatly appreciated. His talk on fireextinguishment and recommendations for preventing incipient fires were sound in principle, and were much appreciated by those who heard him at the conference.
