The election of officers took place and Professor W. T. Sedgwick, of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, was chosen as president of the association for the ensuing year. As an authority on sanitation, bacteriology and the pollution and purification of water supplies, Professor Sedgwick is one who stands in the front rank. Muncie, Ind., has just paid a little over $6,000 for fire hydrant rental during the last six months.
