FIRE NEWS OF THE WEEK Special Correspondence of FIRE AND WATER ENGINEERING The Sidney, Ohio, fire department has elected George Brandlcy as chief. The re-election of Chief F. A. Leonard, of Taunton, Mass., is announced. A fire department has been organised and a hose cart bought at Longmont, Colo. Another assistant chief is to be added to the fire department of Indianapolis, Ind. Harry G. Losser has been elected chief of the Lebanon, La., fire department. Martinsburg, W. Va., is to organise a paid fire department, with new equipment. Chief J. Strapp’s New Year’s gift was a gold badge from his firemen at St. Paul, Minn. The firemen of Hightstown, being “volunteer,” demand pay. If refused, they will resign. Chief Tilley, of Clarksville, Tcnn., has been presented with a beautiful picture by the firemen of that city.
