WATER FOR WESTFIELD. In the new bill by means of which Springfield, Mass., secures Little river as a source of its water supply, the interests of Westfield have been well guarded. The town from the first had no chance of retaining Little river; but, under the new bill, the new system must be built in a manner acceptable to and under the supervision of the State board of health—something entirely new in water bills. It is certain that that board will see that the height of the proposed dam, about which there is so much local concern, is built with an idea of guarding the permanent safety of the residents of this valley. Westfield may also tap the Springfield main, as soon as ti e town has developed the 1 illotson brook supply in Granville to its capacity.
