BETTERING FIRE SERVICE AT LITTLE ROCK. The business men and members of the board of trade at Little Rock, Ark., recently held a joint meeting at which the question of the city’s fire protection was discussed. They adopted the following resolutions for presentation to the council: “Whereas, There exists an imperative need for a thorough overhauling of the Little Rock fire department, and the time is at hand when in the interest of the business of the city it should be done. Therefore, Resolved, That we urge upon the city authorities (and we do this as the representatives of the business interests), that there be no further delay in not only increasing the equipment, but the number of firemen as well.
