NEW TYPES OF LA FRANCE APPARATUS. The American-La France Fire Engine company has recently designed a new quick-raising aerial extension truck, with which an eighty-fivefoot extension ladder can be raised and extended by two ordinary men within ten seconds. Some fifty of these trucks have sold within the past year to the largest cities, and the company now has twelve of these trucks in the process of construction. The company has also recently designed and manufactured an automobile chemical engine of the gasoline type, in addition to the steam, automobile combination chemical engine and hose wagon. Edward W. Fellows, jr., is now fire chief at Bound Brook, N. J.
