TEST OF NOTT ENGINE.

Issue 26 and Volume 39.

TEST OF NOTT ENGINE. A report states that the new second-size Nott, high-efficiency engine of the piston valve design, ordered some time ago by the officials of Indianapolis, was given a thorough test by Chief Coots of that city’s fire department, a few days ago. B. C. Wheat, clerk of the Indianapolis department, took the records, which are given below. Attention is particularly called to the number of lines of hose and the large nozzles used, together with the high pressures obtained by this secondsize engine, which were considered very satisfactory by all present. First and extra first-size engines would generally be expected to make such records. The officials and all connected with the department are more than pleased with the new engine.
