THE NEXT CONVENTION OF N. Y. S. F. ASSOCIATION. Elmira, acting on the understanding entered upon at the adjournment of the recent convention of the New York State Firemen’s association at Jamestown, that it could have the next convention, if it so desired, is already beginning to take the necessary steps to secure it. The local Chamber of Commerce has inaugurated a movement in that direction, and has caused a public meeting to be hold, and has caused a gestion and appointing a committee of citizens to make arrangements to secure the gathering there. The Business Men’s association has likewise indorsed the project. At the public meeting E. H. Colburn presided and Roy S Smith (one of the moving spirits in the agitation) acted as secretary. If Elmira is selected, the fact that the city is such a railroad centre (having four trunk-line railroads-the Erie, Lackawanna, Pennsylvania and Lehigh Valley)…
