MASSACHUSETTS STATE FIREMEN Their Convention at Worcester. Last week the twenty-seventh annual convention of the Massachusetts State Firemen’s association met in the Y. M. C. A.’s hall at Worcester, Mass. Convention sat during September 12, 13, 14, with Chief Edward F. Dahill, of New Bedford, president of the association, in the chair. Mayor Duggan, in his address of welcome, reminded the association that it was eleven years since it had visited the city, and in that time its population had increased 30.000, and its real estate was now valued at $100,000,000. Ihis had necessitated an increased growth in the wants and needs of the lire department, and to-day the city possessed tiie “equal of any body of firelighters in tne United States.” Councilman Powers, a former member of the old Niagara of Millbury, joined m the mayor’s welcome.
