WISCONSIN WATER SUPPLY FROM LAKES. The Wisconsin State board of health has issued its bulletin, in which it is stated that the water supplied by intake from the lakes is not considered the best for domestic use, and that cities securing supplies from this source are suffering more or less from the presence of typhoid fever or other intestinal diseases. The bulletin further says: “This fact simply goes to show the dangers of the present system on the part of those cities obtaining their water supplies. The disposition of sewage into one of the great lakes within a few thousand feet of their intake pipe is exposing the citizens to typhoid fever in as serious a manner as it would be to allow children from a well family to go into the quarantined homes of families suffering from diphtheria and scarlet fever and allow children to mingle with them.
