MEETING OF NEW JERSEY CHIEFS. The New Jersey Fire Chiefs’ association held its semi-annual meeting at Trenton on Tuesday last. There was a good representative number present from Camden to Hoboken, and the proceedings were carried on with considerable interest and enthusiasm. Chief Allen, of Trenton, is well equiped for a presiding officer; in fact, it would be difficult to select a president of the association more qualified than he is to fill the chair. The members assembled in the council chamber, when the roll call showed some thirty present. After reading the minutes of the last meeting at Atlantic City, the report of the treasurer. Chief Doane, showed a balance of $113 on hand. Letters of regret at not being able to attend were read from Mr. McDevitt, of Philadelphia, and Chiefs Stagg and O’Neill.
