ITHACA STRIKES A BIG WATER FLOW. A dispatch from Ithaca, N. Y., states that the local water board has struck its fourth big flowing well at Ellis Hollow. The new artesian gusher pours out 60,000 gals, daily—making a total of a quarter of a million gallons. Deputy State Engineer Getman estimated the available supply in Ellis Hollow at 500,000 gals, a day and five more wells will soon be sunk—yieldng enough to supply the East Hill section by gravity. The city’s water board proposes to try to connect Ellis Hollow with a farm beyond Slaterville, where another 500.000 gals, are available for a gravity supply of flowing naturally filtered water.
