The repairs to the broken pump at St. Clair. Mich., have been completed. At Chicago, Ill., the contract for the erection of the Lake View pumping station has been let to B. M. Zadick & Co., their $88,929 being the lowest of a half-dozen others. This will bring the cost of the new plant up to $303,329, the pump costing $123,000 and the foundation $91,400 more The building is to be constructed of red Portage granite. The bids submitted are as follows: William E. McCarthy, $104,000; Standard Construction company, $92,500; American Engineering company, $111,900; John Peterson, $92,058; Warner Construction company, $97,900; M. H. McGovern, $105,300.
