FIRE NOTES FROM TORONTO. Toronto, Ont., Nov. 13, 1907. Correspondence of FIRE & WATER ENGINEERING. The high-pressure fire system in this city is nearing completion. The only streets remaining in which the system has to be finished are Church, Adelaide, Shuter, Victoria and Lombard. In less than a month it is expected that the work will be done. The engines and pumps have been installed at the main pumping station; but there is still much work to be done on them. The water will be pumped from the bay. Chief Thompson will have to purchase a large amount of additional hose to use in the downtown section. The pressure will be 300 lbs. and more,’ and the present hose can stand only 100.
