BROCKTON AND HIGH-PRESSURE. On November 5. by a vote of 4,221 to 1,901. Brockton, Mass., defeated the proposal to install a high-pressure water system for fire protection. The project had been supported by Chief Harry L. Marston,who argued that it afforded the most economical way of increasing the firefighting strength of the department and avoiding the necessity for adding to the number of fire engines and firemen. The project, however, did mot carry.
